A "condotel" is also known as a condo hotel. Condotels are normally built in a resort town such as Port Clinton Ohio or in a downtown setting.
Our condotel will have the look and feel of a normal hotel to our guests but they have the opportunity to purchase a unit unlike a regular hotel. Buyers of a condotel unit own these as residences, unlike a timeshare unit. They can stay in them when they want, rent it out or sell it.
At the Island House Inn - a Premier Centennial Hotel in Port Clinton, we have an in-house management company that can market and rent out the unit on your behalf. You will be charged a portion of the rental fee, which will go toward maintenance and upkeep of the unit. MacLaren Management LLC, our in-house management agency, will take 40% of each rental and give you, the owner 60%.

- Average occupancy May and September are 50%
- Average occupancy June through August is 80%
According to the Economic Impact, Performance & Profile Survey of 2007: Ottawa County hotels, motels and resorts reported an annual weighted occupancy of 62.2% overall.
