The NRA National Matches at Camp Perry
Come celebrate with The Island House one of the shooting sport's finest traditions this summer at the NRA National Matches, held on the shores of Lake Erie every year. The National Matches, considered America's "World Series of Shooting" have been a tradition at Camp Perry, Ohio since the founding of the marksman training facility in 1907. Each summer, the nation's most renowned civilian and military marksmen square off for five intensive weeks of rifle and handgun competition.

Hosted and sponsored by the National Rifle Association, competitions take place in a variety of formats and events. Prizes and national recognition are given to the winners of each shooting division and category. No finer test of skill shooting or marksmanship exists in the United States today, and spectators and competitors have continued to increase every year since the initial competitions.

The Island House is conveniently located near Camp Perry, and has been a proud host to both competitors and fans of the NRA National Matches for years. Whether staying the night or stopping by for dinner at one of Ohio's most historic lake side hotels, make sure to plan a visit to the Island House on your trip to the NRA National Matches and the Lake Erie shoreline this summer.
